Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
In the event of cardiac arrest, immediate resuscitation is vital. Nevertheless, the revival rate by laymen rescuers is very low. Only 14% of patients requiring resuscitation are actually revived, and resuscitation is only carried out correctly in 7% of these cases. The reason for this low number is due to the great uncertainty of the first responders when making a diagnosis.
For this reason, Corscience, together with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and Neocor GmbH, have developed a new sensor which helps laymen make a reliable diagnosis.
