Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Armin Bolz
Managing Director and partner since 2001
Armin Bolz is a managing director and partner of Corscience GmbH & Co. KG, which he founded, together with the medical engineering company Weinmann, in Erlangen in 2001. Mr Bolz got his PhD and qualified as a professor at the University of Erlangen on the physical issues of implant development. His results led to novel coating technologies, which are still being used worldwide in the area of stent and cardiac pacemaker production. From 1995-1999, Mr Bolz was the Head of Development at Biotronik GmbH & Co. KG. In 1999, he became a professor for Biomedical Engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). From 1999 to 2001, he was the Chairman of the German Association of Biomedical Engineering (Deutschen Gesellschaft für Biomedizinische Technik), and in 2001 was also a member of the VDE board. With numerous patents, prizes and publications on biophysical and biomedical engineering topics, he has made a name for himself both domestically and abroad.
Dr. Claudius Moor
Authorized officer since 2009
Dr. Claudius Moor is an authorized officer and Head of Development at Corscience. He was one of the first employees at Corscience and has been with the company since it was founded in 2001. At the beginning of his career, the electrical engineering graduate was first involved with the development of defibrillators and wireless sensor systems, before he took over as head of OEM Development in 2004. After he completed his PhD, in conjunction with industry, on the topic: “Wireless patient monitoring by intelligent, self-sufficient medical sensor systems”, Dr. Moor was named head of the newly founded business area R&D Services in 2006. Since this time, he bears overall responsibility for all development orders and human resources for over 30 development engineers and project managers. Since 2009, Dr. Moor has been an authorized officer of Corscience.
